What is an Academy?
Description of an Academy
A Career Academy is designed to prepare students for employment and post-secondary education in the chosen career field. It includes integrated classroom instruction, lab practice, and possibly clinical and career shadowing experience in selected career fields, depending on the academy selected by the students and parents. Academy students are required to complete a two or three-year program of study, including vocational and academic components.
Curriculum
Academic and Career Courses will be integrated. Teachers work as a team so that academic teacher (i.e. Language, Math) are teaching skills needed for careers and the vocational courses teach academic skills that relate to the chosen field.

Submit 5 Teacher Recommendations
Complete the Individual Interview Process
The Academy admissions process will also include a review of the student's academic, attendance, and behavioral records by members of the Dixie District Career Academy Team.
