Dixie County High School Mission Statement

  The vision of Dixie County High School is to instill in all students a passion for lifelong learning through rigorous and relevant curriculum that allows all students to become productive citizens in their community.

            Dixie County High School will provide academically challenging instruction, including programs that allow each student the opportunity to acquire the necessary skills to achieve scholastically, socially, physically and creatively within a safe school environment.

The belief statements for Dixie County High School are:

1. Each student is a unique individual who is capable of learning.
2. All students are equal and must be treated with dignity and respect.
3. Student learning is our top priority.
4. Students must be provided a safe, drug free, and violence free environment conducive to learning.
5. Students need varied alternative learning experiences and assessments to meet their personal educational demands and needs, to promote maximum learning and to prepare them to live a prosperous and productive adult life.
6. Teachers, administrators, staff, parents, the community and the students must all share in the responsibility of providing a supportive learning environment within the school.
7. Students achieve in an environment of specific goals, clear expectations and high standards.
8. To succeed in their world, students must possess academic competence, problem-solving skills, analytical and critical thinking skills and technology literacy.
9. Students, parents and staff must have a mutual, on-going commitment to school improvement, creating challenging goals and expectations which will enable students to become lifelong learners.
