Brief Description
The goal of the Dixie Academy of Welding Technology is to prepare students to enter the workforce in a welding career. To reach this goal, it is necessary to have expectations and guidelines for students. These guidelines will instill the professionalism and good work habits that are inherent in acquiring a job in the career path that is chosen.

Curriculum
General academic and the welding courses will follow hand in hand. Teachers will work as a team to reach the goal of a proficient learning environment. The NCCER curriculum has been implemented in order to create an accredited industry certification.

Credit Requirements
Four English Credits               Three Social Studies Credits
Four Math Credits                  Three Science Credits

Career Opportunities
Upon successful completion of this rigorous curriculum, the students will have industry certifications that will be vital in pursuing their careers. To learn more about these certifications check out the NCCER website or the AWS website.

DCHS VICA
Skills USA – Vocational Industrial Clubs of America, Inc. membership is available to all students enrolled in the Automotive or Welding Technology Programs. Skills USA provides leadership training experiences and reinforces specific vocational skills. To Learn more, check out the VICA website.
