Dixie District School Board hereby advertises

Sealed Bid 2023‐02 Contracted Services for Grounds Maintenance/Lawn Contractors

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Grounds Maintenance/Lawns Contractors may bid on specified locations as detailed in the bid packet. For each location, bid total must include mowing of all grounds (including fenced retention areas at Ruth Rains Middle School and non‐fenced retention areas at Dixie County High School) and exterior property, trim/weed all areas, weed chemical control of certain areas, limb pickup and removal prior to mowing, and blower clean‐up of all entrances and walkways after mowing and trimming. See complete specifications in the bid packet. Sealed Bid Packets are available at the District Business Office in Old Town or Support Services in Cross City. If you are interested in submitting a bid, you must return it in the official sealed bid envelope provided by the school district prior to deadline of March 31, 2023 at 12 p.m. The School System is closed 3/20/23‐3/24/23 so plan accordingly. Submit bids by courier, U.S. Mail, or deliver in person. Direct all inquiries to Paul Bennett, Director of Safety, Facilities, and Special Projects at (352) 541‐6366 ext. 1.

In the upcoming weeks our schools will be hosting state health assessments. These screenings will be for Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd and 6th grade students. They will include vision, hearing, growth (performed in 1st, 3rd and 6th grade) and scoliosis (only performed in 6th grade). All screenings are non-invasive and we will send the results home. Prior to screenings, parents are required to opt-in by signing the Parental Consent for School Health Services form.  If you do not wish for your child to participate in a particular screening, please submit the notification in writing to the school. If you wish to speak to the School Nurse with any questions or concerns related to the screenings please contact Saundra Stephens, RN (352)507-2020.
